There are both advantages and disadvantages to building your own computer. Building, instead of buying a computer can make a lot of sense under the right set of circumstances. It can also be a waste of time and money under the wrong ones.
The primary benefits to building your own computer can come in the areas of price, component selection, and customization. Although the overall price differential for a basic PC is not as great as it used to be thanks to the low cost mass produced machines now available, you can still get a lot more performance from the individual components for the same price.
If you only need an entry level, bargain basement PC, buy one off the shelf. However, anyone who wants more than the basics and is interested in the challenge should consider building their own. Essentially, building your own PC allows you to upgrade every component on your machine over those you would get in a comparable pre-made computer and spend slightly less in the process.
There are two strategies that can be used to exploit this advantage depending on the user's need. First, you can build a top of the line gaming PC or other high performance computer for a lot less than it would cost you to buy a comparable PC already built. Alternately, you could spend the cost of a stripped down entry level computer, and build one that is several steps up in quality and performance.
Building a computer is not as difficult as it may seem, or as you've perhaps been lead to believe. If you can use a screwdriver, snap components into place, follow instructions and exercise care in the process, you can build a computer. Don't let anyone tell you any differently. The most difficult part of the entire project is selecting the components and understanding their performance capacity and how that relates to the other components and to your intended purpose.
Different uses require different priorities. Gamers want great sound, top flight graphics processing and plenty of processor power. A photographer may require absurd amounts of disk space and RAM. The point is, start out knowing what you want to use the computer for and then research your parts list from there.
The case must be able to accommodate all the components you select, including extra fans. And remember to plan ahead so that you build in the ability to expand and upgrade your computer in the future. This is another huge advantage to building your own PC as most ready made computers allow very little in the way of potential for expansion. With a little forethought, you'll find that the computer you build will suit your needs for years by allowing you to upgrade as needed.
From there you can customize a homemade PC anyway you'd like. You are only limited by your imagination. Lights, clear cases or towers and high end outer hardware are all available and inexpensive.
So what are some of the disadvantages? Well, frankly, it can be a pain if you aren't organized and have a difficult time maintaining a clean and orderly work area. Also, it is fairly common that at least one of the components you purchase will have some sort of malfunction right out of the box. When this happens, troubleshooting the problem can be potentially tricky depending on the problem. For example, it's pretty easy to determine that you got a bad power supply, but a bad RAM module might not be as immediately evident.
And remember that you'll have to buy the operating system and this can amount to a significant portion of your overall expense. Despite these drawbacks in the end, building your own computer is a very satisfying project that allows you to own a high end machine for the cost of a mass produced ordinary machine.

Panasonic has been around for nearly 100 years. They've manufactured every type of electronics from radio equipment to home theaters. We're going to be concentrating on the cordless Panasonic line in this article with a couple of helpful tips on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Too many times we tend to throw away out cordless Panasonic phones because we've had them for years and they have just stopped working. Most of the time the simplest answer, it would seem, is to just go buy a new one. This isn't always true though. The batteries that come bundled up inside of your cordless Panasonic phone are specific to that phone, however you can order replacements. This is nice when you think about saving -0 on the cost of a new phone and you get to claim to be green as well. Why? Because you're not filling up landfills with phones that just needed a new battery.
Another common problem people run into with their old phones has to do with the cabling. Yes, it's a cordless phone, but the base still needs to plug into the wall. Often that little cable from the base of your phone system to the wall can get kinked or otherwise damaged. Replace the cord. It's a standard Rg45 plug-in. In other words, any phone cable with work.
The next component that will likely give out is the power converter. These guys get pretty hot fairly easily and will burn out after awhile. If you are wondering what I am talking about, check out your telephone base. The power cord will most likely run through a nice black box before continuing on into the wall. That is what I am talking about. When these things go your base will no longer work, thus your phone will be dead as Caesar's ghost. You can actually buy a replacement online or at the local electronics store. Just make sure you match the output and plug type. If you don't have any experience with this sort of thing, take it with you and compare it to what's on the shelf and avoid universal sets. They are usually more expensive and lend themselves to harming your electronics if you are unfamiliar with voltage and amps.
For signal loss cordless Panasonic bases can be added to certain brands of signal repeaters. By signal loss I mean, let's say you can stand at the curb and hear everything fine, however your phone doesn't seem to want to work in the basement. A signal repeater more or less extends the signal from your phone to your base by acting as a relay. These can be a little hard to install, and not over common to find. Another answer would be to just simply buy another phone and plug it into the area you're having trouble with. That is to say if you can't get good signal in your basement, put a cordless phone down there as well.
Cleaning your phone base is important too. Dust is the number two killer of electronics, second only to three year olds with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Just dusting your base could add some life to it. Dust will insulate and lock in heat, heat is bad. Cool is good. So be cool and keep your electronics cool.
Also keep your electronics dry. Even having that cordless Panasonic base on your porch is a bad idea maybe- at least for any length of time. Moisture will set in and corrosion will take place, and I have no tips on have to get rid of it. With a little care and some heads up maintenance your cordless Panasonic phone could possible double in life expectancy. This not only saves a bit on the old pocket book and helps the environment, but is nice for those of us who can never find the "flash" button on other people's phones.

Tomatoes - Six Easy Steps to Maximize Yields of Big Juicy Ones in Small Home Gardens
A chemist once told me to add Epsom salts to the soil where I set my tomato plants. It worked well to a large degree. Yet, other things can also be done to improve their overall yield. After growing tomatoes on a tiny plot for several years, I do six things to maximize my tomato yield. The plot itself is located in a sunlit place having adequate amounts of late-afternoon shade and an adequate water supply.
1. Have good soil. Make sure the plot soil is rich with compost and humus, and is self-draining as much as possible. Mix in grass, leaves, garbage, manure or whatever it takes to make it that way over time. The dirt should be easy to dig up, cultivate, and be resistant to becoming sticky, like clay.
2. When planting, add mixture of Epsom salts and basic fertilizer. When setting the starter plants, make the hole fairly deep, 8-to-10-inches, which is deep enough to bury the seedling or starter plant at least halfway into the dirt. Then, before setting the plant, add to the bottom of the hole one cup of a 1:1 mixture of off-the-shelf drug-store Epsom salts and basic granulated fertilizer (component ratio: 10-10-10 to 13-13-13). Add a shallow layer of soil. And then, set the plant atop it.
3. Set out four-to-six varieties. A variety of early to late producers not only ensures a long growing season, but it is also a defensive measure. If a blight comes upon the plants, it probably will not damage all of them at once. The seasonal climate and personal taste could be considered when choosing varieties. Our Midwestern climate it fairly mild, and we like all tomatoes, from the cherry to beefsteak-types. Yet, our plot holds only six tomatoes.
4. Stake or cage the plants not too far apart. Large gardens easily allow the plants to be spread out by 36-inches or more. These lucky gardeners generally are master pruners as well. As a result, their well-spaced plants appear naked with highly visible easy-to-pluck fruits.
However, in small plots, the plants need to be spaced by 10-to-14-inches. Stake or cage them so they will grow upwards as much as possible. The idea is to make a tall heavy thicket of plants under whose foliage multiple fruits will grow, some of them not highly visible at first glance.
5. Aerate the roots. Tomato plants need at least 1½ -to-3-inches of water a week, which will pack the ground slightly even though it is fairly porous. At least, twice a season, after the first green tomatoes have set on, use a garden fork to gently lift or crack the ground around each plant slightly. To do that, sink the fork completely into the ground about 10-inches away from the plant on its far outside, and then pull back slightly on the handle just enough to make ground cracks around each plant. These small cracks allow air to reach the roots without disturbing any growth. They also allow a dilute solution of nitrogen-rich green-colored growth stimulator to reach the roots if applied then.
6. Pamper the plants slightly, but do not spoil them. Many things can be done to facilitate good tomato growth. But all of them might not be necessary. For example, egg shell can also be added to the starter-plant hole for calcium. But the magnesium in the Epsom salts is sufficient. Also, the powdering of the plant's blossoms with sulfur or other blight-insect repellents probably helps them produce. But, will not the next rain or hose watering wash them off? Additionally, the wind and rain shake the plants often enough, which is supposed to foster new blossoms. Does the gardener need to do it, too? Also, pruning the plants is an option, depending how much efficiency is needed. Still, much of the plant's energy goes into the fruits with or without it. Furthermore, adding dilute coffee or coffee-grounds to the ground helps control the acidity of the soil? But, does the soil acidity really change that much in one season?
These extra treatments probably help the overall growth. But, it could be just as important to treat the plants like they were your very own. One way to do that is to spray the whole plants gently with cool water in the evening. Another way is to use the green autumn fruits that do not have time to ripen, and to not throw them away. Several recipes show us how to pickle or fry green tomatoes. Both products are delicious bounty resulting from doing the six recommended steps above.
